Privacy Policy — Svenska Kort

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Svenska Kort is a flashcard app for learning Swedish. It has no account, no login, and no analytics. This policy describes everything it does with data, which is very little.

What stays on your device

Everything you do in the app is stored only on your phone:

None of this is sent anywhere, and none of it is readable by us. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. There is no backup and no sync — if you change phone, your progress does not come with you.

What leaves your device

Two things, both of which you start deliberately. Nothing else ever does.

Flagging a card

Marking a card as having a problem sends one row to our database containing exactly two things:

That is the entire message. It contains no identifier for you or your device, no timestamp from your phone, and no app version. Two reports cannot be linked to each other or traced back to a person, including by us. We use them only to correct mistakes in the deck.

Your phone's IP address is visible to our hosting provider, Supabase, when the report is sent, as it is for any internet request. It is not stored with the report and we do not use it.

Redeeming a code

Typing a code sends the code itself, and nothing else, so that our server can check whether it is real and has not already been used. There is no identifier for you or your device in that message either. The answer comes back, what the code unlocks is written to your phone, and it is never checked again: redeeming needs a connection once, and the app works offline from then on.

We store how many times each code has been used. We do not store who used it, because nothing in the request tells us.

If you write to us

The Feedback button in Settings opens your own email app with a draft. Nothing is sent from inside the app: you write it, you can change or delete any part of it first — including the last line, which names the app version and says whether you have the full deck — and you send it yourself from your own account.

If you do send it, we have your email address and whatever you wrote, because that is what email is. We use it to answer you and for nothing else, we do not add you to any list, and we never pass it on. Ask us to delete the exchange and we will: unlike a card report, this is something we can actually find.

Purchases

Unlocking the full deck is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details. The app stores only the fact that a purchase was made, on your device.

What we never collect

The app collects no name, no email address, no phone number, no location, no contacts, no advertising identifier, no device identifier, no usage analytics, and no crash reports. There are no third-party advertising or analytics libraries in it. The one exception is the one you choose: if you email us, we have what you sent, as described above.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing that could identify anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because nothing the app sends identifies you, we cannot look up, export or delete "your" data — there is nothing connecting any report to you to find. The single exception is an email you sent us, which we can find and will delete on request. If you want to send nothing at all, simply do not use the flag button and do not redeem a code; the rest of the app works with no internet connection ever.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the new version appears at this address.
